One bad letter in a pile of mail is easy to miss

People who handle a parent's mail describe it the same way: "I missed a bill that was due in July in the mound of mail I brought back in August" (r/AgingParents, September 2026). Another wrote that their mother reads Cantonese far better than English, and the Medi-Cal, insurance and county letters keep coming: "some of it is urgent, most of it isn't, and i can't tell which until i've read the whole thing."

Translating a letter by hand, one app at a time, does not tell you what it asks for, when it is due or whether it is a scam. And the rest of the family never sees it unless you forward every photo.

What early access will include

  1. 01

A plain explanation of each letter (Medicare, Medi-Cal, county, insurance, utilities), in your parent's language: what it says, what it asks, what to do next.

  2. 02

One family timeline of due dates and reminders, so a sibling or a caregiver sees the same list. Search any past letter later.

  3. 03

A scam warning on every letter. It is a warning to check, not a guarantee. Postel is read-only and never touches money or logins.

Planned price

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Snap or forward a letter

Take a photo, or forward the scan. Only letters you send are read.

  2. Step 2

Get a plain summary and a next step

The summary is in your parent's language and yours, with the amount and the due date.

  3. Step 3

    The family gets the reminder

The letter is saved with its due date, shared with your family and searchable later.

What this is not

Postel is not legal, medical or financial advice, and it does not file, pay or answer anything for you. Scam flags are warnings, not guarantees, and the summary can be wrong: check the original before you act on a deadline. It is read-only: no bank logins, no payments, no access to your parent's accounts. Letters are deleted when you ask. Postel reads only the letters you scan or forward. It is not affiliated with any agency, insurer or utility.

Questions

Can it really read my parent's language?
Early access starts with a short list of languages, chosen from the answers on this form. If yours is not covered at first, we will say so by email before anything is charged.
Is this live?
Not yet. This is a waitlist. The example above is a mock-up, not output from a live product. We are taking a short list and will email you about next steps.
What happens to the letters?
Only letters you scan or forward are read. We keep them so the family can search them, and delete them whenever you ask by email.
Who is behind this?
Kiteloop, a small studio. A person answers every email.
